Abstrakt: The paper is concerned with the application of wavelet transforms to determine the local scaling singularities of data arrays obtained in the course of diagnostics of engineering systems or from an experiment (full-scale or numerical ones). The multiresolution analysis is used to detect energy characteristics of frequency components. We give examples of applying the wavelet transforms in the analysis of local scaling singularities of time series when diagnosing engineering systems or images of polished sections under cyclic load tests of samples of construction materials.
