Abstrakt: | A critique is presented of the film trilogy "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight," and "The Dark Knight Rises" by director Christopher Nolan, which feature the superhero character Batman. The films' sociopolitical themes and references to the 2008 economic recession and U.S. anti-terrorist polices are discussed, as well as the films' depiction of morality, fear, and ambiguity. Critics such as Justine Toh, Mark Fisher, and Stephen Prince are also cited. |
