| Abstrakt: | The article examines efforts by the local government and economic community of Pila, Poland to slow the city's economic decline and promote its social potential during the late 20th and early 21st centuries. Details on the construction of a research centre in Pila and on various economic initiatives funded by the municipal governments of Pila County, Poland and the European Union (EU) are presented. Topics discussed include unemployment, technology, and higher education. |
