Abstrakt: Once the absence of specialized intermodal tracts was demonstrated, the architecture of the atrial muscle fibers became important because the excitation wave travels through all the fibers. Preferntial pathways are formed by the longitudinal arrangement of the fibers. Another important aspect of the atrial muscle fibers is the junction between the pulmonary veins and the left atrium, where these form sphincter-like structure. The aim of this study is to demonstrate by dissection the atrial muscle fibers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
