100 dogs were screened for Haemorrhagic Gastro Enteritis (HEG) and tested for parvo viral infection by using standard immunochromatography assay kit. Out of 100 faecal samples, 53 were found positive for viral HEG, 44 were negative while another three were invalid. Therapeutic required aggressive treatment with crystalloid fluids, synthetic and natural colloids, electrolytes combination with antibiotic, antiemetics, analgesic, antacids and synthetic haemocoagulant. The treatment was continued at least for 7 days. The haematological observation were talen at 0, 3rd and 7th day. Out of 8 dogs treated, 5 dogs survived and recovered while 3 died due to cardiac failure or damage to the kidneys and liver. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
