Abstrakt: The article presents a science experiment that uses a candle and a 5-volt loudspeaker to overcome conceptual problems facing college students in studying sound waves. The motion of the candle's flame was recorded with a Panasonic FZ 100 Lumix digital camera and the video was analyzed by the freeware modeling video software Tracker. Concepts explored in the experiment include the effect of air particles in motion, the periodicity of infrasound waves, and sound as a longitudinal wave.
