Mesenchymal stromal cells promote bowel regeneration after intestinal transplantation: myth to mucosa.

Abstrakt: The article presents a case study of a 52-year old female patient who underwent an isolated small bowel transplant and received mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) to treat severe and refractory bowel dysfunction. It states that the patient received an intestinal graft from a donor with human leuococyte antigen. It also mentions the patient's gastrointestinal (GI) output decreased to 25 milliliter (ml)/ kilogram (kg)/24 h and serum citrulline increased.
