Abstrakt: The author addresses the issue of the emancipatory process of literacy and raises a concern on children of color poised to become the majority of children in the U.S. by 2024. A study by the Insight Center for Community Economic Development in 2011 on racialized wealth disparity is cited. The Alliance for Excellent Education reported that only 57 percent of Latino students entering ninth grade will earn a high school diploma. Linguistic genocide as a crime against humanity is also mentioned.
