Abstrakt: The article focuses on the differences in economic development in Indonesia and Nigeria during 1966-1998. It is stated that Indonesia was more successful than Nigeria in managing its economy during the period. The Nigerian economy slowed down, as the nation neglected agriculture, which was the main contributor to the Nigerian economy. Indonesian economic policy put rural-agricultural development as its first priority, whereas Nigerian economic policy preferred industrialization.
