Abstrakt:	The article contends that being a sales manager does not mean no more traveling. A sales manager's job reportedly lies 75% in the field and 25% in the home office. As a rule, men are said to be promoted to the position of sales management because they have demonstrated real ability as closers of sales, often of tough ones. Reasons desk managers fail are discussed. The need for a manager to set an example is emphasized.
