| Abstrakt: |
The article offers information on bronchial thermoplasty (BT) as a therapeutic option for asthma refractory to traditional medical treatment and the problem of insurance coverage for BT. The author says that despite the clinical evidence on the efficacy and safety of BT, there is still difficulty in establishing "reasonability and necessity" for acquiring private and governmental insurance coverage for BT, which has been assigned category 1 Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes in 2013. |
