The article focuses on the management of multi-drug resistant (MDR) tuberculosis (TB) in Iran. It says that MDR-TB is caused by a Mycobacterium tuberculosis strain and occurs as rge result of inadequate treatment. It states that the treatment for MDR-TB is around 20 months, and the second line medications used for the treatment have side effects and are most expensive. It adds that the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates around 1,305 cases of MDR-TB. |
