The article discusses the new provisional waiver process for undocumented relatives of U.S. citizens as of 2013. Harsh penalties for unlawful presence in the U.S. are mandated by immigration law. The administration of President Barack Obama has made administrative changes, including a two-year deferral of removal for certain immigrants brought to the country as children. The advantages of the provisional waiver program are also mentioned. |
