A method of measuring the phase current of an electric energy transducer is proposed. The method is implemented by measuring the voltage drop across an open power MIS (MOSFET) transistor and, if compared to the use of current shunts and Hall-effect sensors, offers the advantage of lowering the device size, its cost, and losses in the power circuit. Experimental data verify the applicability of this circuit design when using modern elements and microprocessor control systems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
