The article examines retraction's role in libel litigation and describes Georgia's retraction law that applies to libel published in a newspaper or other publication and to broadcast of a slander. It discusses Georgia Supreme Court's application of retraction statute in Mathis v. Cannon holding that retraction statute's use of the term "other publication" encompassed any communication made to a third person, regardless of its medium. |
