Abstrakt: The article focuses on the impact of adding antibiotics to animal feed on the health of human beings. It mentions that the addition of antibiotics in livestock and poultry production can cause several health problems to human. It states that resistant infections in human beings cause more morbidity, mortality, and longer staying in hospitals and also increases the costs of medical care. It informs about several bacteria that can cause resistant infections including Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium difficile and Escherichia coli. It also mentions that regulatory bodies such as the U.S. Food and Drug Administrations should review the content of antibiotics in feeds.
