The purpose of this study was to determine the perceived importance level of various soft skills for success in the twenty-first century workforce as perceived by MBA students. MBA students enrolled in graduate two Managerial Communications courses at one university in the southeastern United States were surveyed to assess the importance of workforce skills, particularly communication skills and how these skills affect success in the workforce. A significant correlation was found between the perceived importance and the perceived improvement for written communication skills, general ethics, diversity, and leadership skills. Furthermore, the effect of the perceived importance of Managerial Communications was statistically significant. Each of the eleven skills yielded a mean score (M ≥ 5.14); and the scale contained the following choices ranging from (6) = Extremely Important to (1) = Not Important indicating that MBA students perceived all eleven skills to be very important to success in the twenty-first century workforce.
