| Abstrakt: | Reasons for interest in probabilistic studies of safety are outlined. Principal considerations in formulating probabilistic codes are discussed and a simple strength modeling example is introduced. The probability implications of ACI 318-63 ultimate strength design procedures are presented. Basic probabilistic procedures in the analysis of the structural safety problem are introduced.
