There is a tremendous variety of hardware that is available for forms for concrete construction, and making a selection is confusing. This paper classifies form hardware by its use and by its load carrying capacity. The use and function, as well as a com-plete description of each tie, is given. Advantages and disadvantages of the various form ties are dis-cussed, and the applications of the ties compared. Two examples are given in which different forms are designed and are compared as to cost, safe work-ing load, and placement rates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
