The article discusses the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommendations on the delivery of effective and timely coronary reperfusion treatment for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. It mentions several treatment options as per NICE guidelines including coronary angiography, fibrinolysis and medical therapy. It states that an electrocardiogram must be offered to patients 60–90 minutes after administration of fibrinolytic therapy. It suggests coronary angiography after successful fibrinolysis to patients who are clinically stable. |
