The article discusses the developments in the U.S.-Mexican security cooperation. It claims that the violence perpetrated by drug trafficking organizations and other criminal groups in Mexico worries the U.S. due to concerns on Mexico's stability, as well as the possible spilling over of violence into the U.S. It examines the two countries' security cooperation since the implementation of the Mérida Initiative since fiscal year (FY) 2008. |
