The article discusses the effect of the 2012 drought on farmers and consumers in the U.S. According to agricultural economist James Dunn, farmers are much affected by drought than consumers. He adds that corn and soybean producers will have nothing to sell and livestock producers will have expensive inputs. He states that consumers won't see large increase in food prices. He also mentions that animal feed prices will rise as drought mainly affects corn and soybean that are used for ingredients. |
