THE FIRST NAME AND PATRONYMIC IN THE MODERN VERBAL COMMUNICATION.

Abstrakt: For centuries, the functioning of patronymic is undergoing various linguistic, sociocultural and functional changes. Forms of the first name and patronymic are characterised by specific characteristics in the modern verbal communication. The subject of our article is to study some regional peculiarities of functioning of the first name and patronymic in the modern Russian verbal communication (as evidences by some studies of the Russian language outside the metropolis). Data for study is mainly the sphere of written and, to some extent, oral communication under Lithuanian-Russian interaction. Some regional linguistic facts analyzed in our work confirm the main trends in the functioning of the patronymic of modern verbal communication of Russians -- the inconsistent use thereof. This reveals some communication strategies of bilinguals, their orientation towards cultural values of the society, as well as Western culture and peculiarities of its anthroponomical system. Modification of the rules of the modern linguistic etiquette associated with the use of patronymic is stipulated by communicative expediency. Analysis of our materials allows determining of some peculiarities of use of patronymics. Assistance in making broad picture of functioning of patronymics would provide materials related to other fields of speech communication and other communication situations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
