The article discusses the creation of the Collegiality Assessment Matrix, a tool developed by consultants Jeffrey L. Buller and Robert E. Cipriano to determine the collegiality and cooperativity of college and university employees. It addresses the potential use of the Matrix in determining faculty promotion, reappointment, or tenure as a means of selecting against individuals who are difficult to work with.
