Abstrakt: |
The article presents a research which looks at the relationship of speech to social status in the U.S. It aims to suggests that social functions and significations of speech factors offer a prolific field for research, designated as the field of socio-linguistics. The research concludes the absence of phase of speech studies in the country as well as indicates the lack of linguistic field that is open to researches as that of spoken English. |
