Peculiar breathing in Rett syndrome: Anesthesiologist's nightmare.

Abstrakt: This article presents a case study of peculiar breathing in Rett syndrome. The patient was a four-year-old girl who was scheduled for ophthalmic surgery for seborrheic dermatitis of the eyelid margin. Pre-operative evaluation was conducted to analyze the breathing patterns, arterial blood gases in case of any abnormality in breathing, and presence of gastro intestinal reflux. The implications of the case for anesthesiologists are discussed.
