Abstrakt: | The article reports on research conducted to investigate the effect of low activity thiopurine methyltransferase (TMPT) variants (TPMTLA) on the levels of the end‐point metabolite DNA‐TG and its relation to TPMT enzyme activity, Ery‐TGN, and erythrocyte levels of methylated metabolites (Ery‐ MeMP) in a cohort of children who were undergoing 6MP/MTX maintenance therapy for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Researchers found that TPMTLA patients had significantly lower TPMT activity. |
