The article reports on the plan of India National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) to establish the Unique Tiger Identification (UTID), a national database of wild tigers capture by camera-trap surveys. It says that the objective of Indian project is to give UTID numbers on tigers and to prevent multiple counting of the animal in various areas. It mentions that the database will officially called the National Repository of Camera Trap Photographs of Tigers (NRCTPT). |
