| Abstrakt: |
The article examines the efforts of aerospace industries company Boeing Co. to address a series of battery fires on its Boeing 787 jet transports which resulted in the U.S. grounding of the airplane. The possible certification of the redesign of the transport's lithium-ion batteries by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) following testing by Boeing Co. is discussed. The change in design needed to vent moisture from battery cells is examined. |
