Abstrakt: The article presents a study that evaluates urinary and serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) among children with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and determine their roles as markers for renal involvement. The study is undertaken by assessing the urinary and serum levels of NGAL among 33 children with SLE. The results of the study show that urinary NGAL is a sensitive marker for proliferative nephritis in SLE.
