Global warming is probably the most pressing ecological, economic and societal challenge facing our generation. Many industries and enterprises have begun steps for carbon emission reduction and management. Logistics activities contribute billions of tons of carbon emission annually with above 50 percent of emission reduction opportunities. This paper surveyed current international status and the publications status of carbon emission management. Logistics carbon emission management is addressed and its importance is analyzed. A logistics carbon footprint evaluation framework is provided. Different low-carbon technologies for logistics enterprises are introduced.
