Abstrakt: The present work describes the development and characterisation of a new set of polymer composites consisting of sisal fibre reinforcement, polyester resin and red mud particulate fillers. Red mud is an industrial waste generated during the production of alumina by Bayer's process. The newly developed composites are characterized with respect to their mechanical properties. Tensile, flexural and impact properties of the sisal fiber reinforcement composites with and without filler content were studied and results compared. Fibers of different length and different weight compositions were taken. By the addition of redmud. Impact and flexural strength increases in all cases irrespective of fiber length and weight compositions. tensile strength yields decrease in strength by more addition of remud is due to the poor bonding interaction between the matrix and fibre.
