Abstrakt: The author discusses the impact of the No Child Left Behind Act on the U.S. elementary and secondary school systems. According to the author, the No Child Left Behind Act demands that school systems improve their performance and take corrective action where progress is considered insufficient. The author adds that the act imposed performance requirements for the first time since the Great Society push in the 1960s.
