The newspapers of Satu Mare during the interwar period reflect Romanian foreign efforts to defend peace and maintain the frontiers obtained with a huge effort in 1918. After the Great Union the first elections for the Romanian Parliament take place. The political life has seen a lot of agitation generated by the opposing interests of the political parties. The political scene was dominated by the National Liberal Party and National Peasant Party. The Press of the time reflects the views of one or other of the parties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
