The article presents the U.S. Congressional Research Service's February 7, 2013 report about the federal debt (FD) of the U.S. Among the topics covered include a brief history of the FD limit, the debt ceiling reached at end of December 2012, the implication of the suspension of the debt limit until May 19, 2013, and the effect of the economic slowdown on FD. It also provides a chart which show the components of FD as a percentage of gross domestic product from 1940 to 2016. |
