The article focuses on newer technologies for the production of lighter and longer rotor blades to harness wind energy. It mentions the superior processing properties of the Epikote RIM145 resin infusion system with the use of the resin transfer moulding (RTM) process at lower cost, the new Epikote RIM245 infusion system with transverse tensile properties using two glass fibre types including the 3B SE1500 type and PPG2002. It also notes the Epikote BP435 bonding paste system. |
