The article attempts to retrofit the theory that monads exist where peoples past and present meet to embody each other's truth to an analysis of Francois Rabelais's "Le Quart Livre." It argues that "Le Quart Livre" disenchants the world that it charts and swap chthonic deities for mere people, superstition for science and panic terrors for technique. It notes that "Le Quart Livre" remains pertinent to the present day and age where nightmares of old are dispelled when one wakes up.s |
