The article explores the creation of an American culture which is devoted to play and entertainment during the nineteenth century in the U.S. It mentions that this culture has to do with baseball that reflects the nation's dynamism. It notes the relation of American baseball with the American politics. It also emphasizes the formation of baseball clubs and its transformation from athletic exercise into a competitive enterprise. |
