Abstrakt: The article reports on a research from Biotechnology Industry Organization on the impact of intellectual property rights (IPR) on product commercialization and developing countries. The research reveals that IPR and technology transfer mechanisms promote collaboration and lead to research and development of innovative scientific discoveries. It notes that the research may trigger more informed discussions on the role of IPR in economic development.
