The article discusses the contribution of photography to the frame of bodily schematism. The author talks about aspects of haptic realism and the way it builds on the interplay of three aspects of embodiment, physical body, phenomenological body, and libidinal body. She develops a hypothesis that aims at indicating how a certain shift in the cultural status of touching might contribute to reshaping the photographic conditions of embodiment in digital culture. She also tackles the difference between haptic realism in film based and in digitally mediated photography. |
