EFFECT OF ACIDIC ENVIRONMENT ON ZnO ELECTRODEPOSITED FILMS.

Abstrakt: Electrodeposition of ZnO onto Zn foil substrate was prepared by galvanostatic method. The ZnO films were obtained from different two electrolyte solutions (ZnSO4, Zn(CH3COO)2). Corrosion behaviour of ZnO films has been observed by introducing them in H2SO4 0.5 M solution for one hour. The corrosion study has been realized using the linear polarization method and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The corrosion rate and polarization resistance values were obtained from the Tafel curves. The highest corrosion resistance of ZnO films was recorded for that sample obtained from acetate solution. Also, in order to confirm these results, the gravimetric parameters were calculated by means of the mass loss method. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
