A case report is presented of a 25-year-old man who underwent total hip arthroplasty for chronic hip pain following an automobile accident. Ten months after surgery, a lytic defect was detected in the endosteal bone adjacent to the femoral component of the prosthesis, which was later diagnosed as Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) of the proximal femur and removed through curettage. |
