The article discusses how the street art or hip-hop trend influences music and culture in Qatar. According to sociology professor Sonali Pahwa, media has a significant role in the globalization of street art. It describes contributions of Iraqi rappers the Narcicyst and Omar Offendum to the development of Arab hip-hop culture. The growing interest of young people in break-dancing and American rap music is also explored. |
