Abstrakt: The authors voice concerns over a proposal of the government of Great Britain, in accordance with which doctors will be required to offer screening services to patients at risk of dementia. The authors believe there is a lack of evidence to suggest that the benefits of screening outweigh potential harm and that the categorization of a set of people for testing for memory problems is contrary to advice from the National Screening Committee.
