The article describes the role of Merrit Retreat Center in providing healing touch to war veterans. Merrit Retreat Center, a non-profit unit was started by Betty Merrit in 1993 to provide basic training for life to men and women returning from war as the number of war veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) began to increase after the war in Iraq. The center uses holistic approach to help people deal with trauma and to find ways to heal the heart, mind, body and spirit. |
