Abstrakt: The article offers information on unsafe injection practices in the U.S. It states that unsafe injection practices are practiced at one-third of public health facilities and nearly 48 U.S. patients have been diagnosed with infectious diseases due to unsafe injection practices. It mentions that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has launched a campaign reminding clinicians not to reuse needles or syringes so as to prevent the spread of blood-borne infections. It further states that CDC has encouraged outpatient facilities to move toward prepared single-dose injection and it will fund three states including North Carolina, New Jersey and New York State to disseminate campaign materials.
