Abstrakt:	The article discusses the U.S. energy policy goals as of November 2012. Since the first energy crisis in the 1970s, conservation and energy efficiency has been a major component of energy policy in the country. It notes some issues regarding the price of oil and gasoline, such as the controversial implementation of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act of 2010 and the role of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).
