Multistate Outbreak of Fungal Infection Associated with Injection of Methylprednisolone Acetate Solution from a Single Compounding Pharmacy-- United States, 2012.

Abstrakt:	The article presents information on the outbreak of multistate fungal infection associated with injection of methylprednisolone acetate solutionobtained from a pharmacy in Tennessee. It informs that the Tennessee Department of Health received information about a patient with culture- confirmed Aspergillus fumigatus meningitis diagnosed 46 days after epidural steroid injection. It also informs that meningitis and parameningeal infections are rare complications of epidural injection. Four categories of cases in patients who received an injection had fungal meningitis or nonbacterial and nonviral meningitis.
