Helping Student Teams Work Collaboratively through Using Wikis.

Abstrakt: Wikis are a relatively new teaching and learning Web 2.0 tool. This article reviews qualitative and quantitative research findings from the experience of three faculty members incorporating wikis into their courses. Student ratings of their experience with wikis were generally positive, but not universally so. The use of wikis does not alleviate team problems. Ease of use and clear instructions from faculty seem to be key factors in the students' wiki experiences. A better understanding of students' perceptions of wikis and their relationship with collaborative learning and team building is important to understanding this potentially important new pedagogical tool.
