Abstrakt: |
The article discusses the progress in South Africa on the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions after the Kyoto Protocol in 2002. It states that South Africa has planned on reducing gas emissions by as much as 42% by 2025 and has participated in the Clean Development Mechanism process. It also states that its municipalities such as Cape Town, Ekurhuleni, and Tshwane have opted to install systems to extract methane at landfill sites to generate electricity. |
